I Guess You Can Call This a Road

I Guess You Can Call This a Road

According the Youtube comments, this is the road to the Himalayas. From the video, they mention the drop is about 2000 feet. Great view, but I'm not sure if its worth the risk. Look at that road, I almost have to use quotes every time I write the word 'road'.

I hope this little road is in the brochure, because you can't spring this up on people when you are there. I would get out of the car, and walk behind it. You would think that with a road that shitty, people would just say, "Nah, I'm ok with just pictures of that place."

I had a laugh when that guy was coming out of the car. I thought he was kidding around, like who the fuck would get out on any part of that road? Then when he actually stepped out, I was afraid things would get grim, I though he was going to get out and just jump off! Like this was going to be a tragic video that I would regret watching. Luckily, nothing crazy like that happened.

I will admit that it must be a crazy view from the window of that car. I'm sure this is a memory these guys will hold dearly. There aren't that many people in the world who can say they've experienced that king of view.

If there was ever a situation in which I HAD to go through this thing, I would have some serious questions for whoever is behind this little shuttle-car business. Here are some questions just off the top of my head:

  • When was the last time a car "didn't make it"?
  • What happens if the car breaks down?
  • Is this the only road? And if so, what happens if a car comes the other way?
  • Are there any plans at all to build a new road?

A younger me would definitely go on road just for the experience of it. Like these guys in the video I would probably be laughing nervously. However, I don't think I'd be hanging out of the window. I'd be on the side holding on to the door, ready to jump out if necessary. Fuck heights and fuck this road.
