Trailer Park: Lethal Weapon - The Series

Television networks usually go through some period of copying ideas that another network has. This time it is taking a pretty cool action/comedy movie franchise and remaking it into a television series. First it was Rush Hour, that series ended up being a bit of a turd. It could have been good but I honestly couldn't get past the guy they cast as Carter (Chris Tucker's role). I think he was awful, instead of making the character his own, I got the feeling he was impersonating Tucker. I was surprised and a bit scared when I found out that they were making a series out of the pretty cool Lethal Weapon franchise.

This trailer does give me hope for the series. The cast looks good, even though I am a bit wary of Wayans who play Murtaugh (Danny Glover's role). I see in the trailer that he tries to be funny, and that bugs me a bit because Murtaugh was more of the straight man who was funny sort of by accident. Then again, I should not judge it too much based on the old movies as this should establish itself as its own "world". The guy who takes over for Mel Gibson as Riggs does a pretty good job. From some of the shots in the trailer it looks as if he does have pretty good range and does not look like he is doing a Mel Gibson impersonation. I raised an eyebrow to what I saw and I hope to see more of the good. However this is just a trailer so I will still wait for final judgement once the pilot airs.

I will say that this trailer does make me want to see the pilot episode at least. I am intrigued, I will watch, and I will be back with a review, until then, here is the trailer:
